G1: Hello, boys and girls. Today is Tuesday. Welcome to listen to Our English broadcast. I’m ShiYaping. I’m from Class 2, Grade 6. My friends, SunGuangwen and LiPing are sitting near me. Let them say hello to everyone.
B: Hello, everyone! I’m SunGuangwen.
G2: Hi, boys and girls! I’m LiPing. We hope you’ll enjoy today’s English broadcast.
B: 同学们，欢迎收听今天的英语广播，希望你们能够享受今天的节目内容。
G1：First we prepared two tongue twisters for you, Let our mouth do some exercise.
首先，我们为大家准备了两则绕口令，那么让我们的嘴巴活动起来吧。
B:人们饮酒过多，说起话来舌头打卷。因此，英国警察曾让司机跟读下面的绕口令，以检查其是否饮酒过量。Listen to me carefully. Walter was wailing, worrying and watching the wet weather and the wet wind. (第一遍读慢点)
G2： Boys and girls, can you say it? Ok, follow me again!

B: You’re very good. 据说绕口令可以医治打嗝。当你打嗝时，一口气把“吹笛的彼得”(Peter Piper)这个绕口令读下来，打嗝就会停止。

B: YES。It’s time to say something about Western countries’ culture.
G2: All right. 同学们，你们一定知道西方国家有着与我们不同的风俗文化。了解他们的风俗文化，能够帮助我们更好地学习英语这门语言。
G1; 中国人的传统美德是谦虚谨慎，面对恭维和夸奖应是推辞。如：有人夸您“ Your English is very good.”您的英语讲得真好。”中国人就会说“过奖，过奖，讲得不好。有人夸你“ You are a nice girl.”“你长得真漂亮！”中国人说“哪里，哪里”。
B： I have heard a joke like this. 有一则笑话说，一位外国朋友夸一位女士“ You are really beautiful.” 那位女士非常不好意思说，“哪里， 哪里！” 外国朋友一愣，忙说“ your eyes, your nose and your mouth, are all beautiful.”
G2: If you don’t the western countries’ culture, you maybe make a joke.
是啊，如果你不了解西方国家的风俗文化，说不定就会闹出笑话来呢。
B： What can westerners do? 那么西方人会怎么做呢？
G1; 西方人从来不过分谦虚，对恭维一般表示谢意，表现出一种自强自信的信念。如：“You can speak very good English.”他们会说“Thank you.”“It’s a wonderful dish！” “您做的菜真好吃!”他们会说“I am glad you like it.” 很高兴您喜欢。
B：所以，当说英语的人称赞你时，千万不要回答：“No，I don’t think so.”这种回答在西方人看来是不礼貌的，甚至是虚伪的。随着社会的'发展，我们已经越来越能理解中西方国家不同的文化，所以，同学们这种笑话您可别闹啊！
G1: 关于打电话，我们中国人和西方人也是不一样。 Do you know how to make a telephone call to our friends？中国人打电话时的用语与平时讲话用语没有多少差异。“喂，您好。麻烦您叫一声王伟接电话。”“我是张英，请问您是谁？” 英语中打电话与平时用语差别很大。如：“Hello，this is John speaking.” “May I speak to Tom ,please？” “Is that Mary speaking？” “Who’s that?”
G2: 西方人一接到电话一般都先报自己的号码或者工作单位的名称。如“Hello，xxx，this is Jim.” 我们学生刚开始学英语会犯这样的错误： “Hello，who are you please？”
B:I know how to make a call now. Boys and girls, do you understand? I think it’s good for us to learn English well. 我想多了解西方国家的文化知识对我们学好英语是有帮助。
G1: Oh! It’s time to listen to an English song.
B: Yes. 是的，又到了欣赏歌曲的时候了。So today what song will we listen to? 那么我们今天将听到什么歌曲呢？
G2：Today we prepared the song , named “Pretty Boy”, from M2M. 今天我们为大家准备这首歌曲来自M2M，名叫“漂亮的男孩”。
B: M2M is a band of two young girls. Their name are Marit and Marion. They are from Norway. They are friends when they were five years old.
G1: M2M是一个由两个女孩组成的乐队。他们的名字分别是Marit（玛莉特）, Marion(玛莉安). 由于两人名字都是M开头，所以就叫M2M。 但是现在她们已经单飞，各自发展。
G2：Now, let’s enjoy this song. Pretty boy. (放歌曲)
